If at this point in time you haven’t heard of Young Thug, then I don’t know what to tell you. If by chance you have the time and patience to get caught up on the whole package, this is a great start. Back in 2016, Young Thug caught fans by surprise announcing that he shall from now on be referred to as Jeffrey, his government name, and teased the world with his forthcoming mixtape JEFFREY. It was originally slated to be billed as No, My Name is Jeffrey, but the alien himself decided on being concise. Getting to the point has always been Thug’s m.o. On the cover, he’s positioned in a modeling pose, brandishing a feminine dress by designer Alessandro Trincone. Wait, what? Yeah, you read that right. A dress. Thug has carved out his own lane in the oversaturated Hip-Hop market, by simply being himself. The term ‘alien’ has been used numerous times when discussing Young Thug’s music, because it sounds like nothing else. He even goes as far as naming nearly all the tracks on the mixtape after an artist or celebrity. In this piece, I imagine what a hangout sesh would look like between the alien and some of the artists that uses as track titles.
