Compton native rapper, Roddy Rich has released his first album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial on December 6th, 2019 under Atlantic Records. Since the beginning of his rapping career, Roddy released 2 mixtapes (2017, 2018), and he has been featured on songs like "Racks In The Middle" by Nipsey Hussle, "Splash Warning" by Meek Mill and "Ballin'" by Mustard. Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial features Mustard, Meek Mill, Ty Dolla $ign, Gunna, Lil Durk, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.

After becoming very popular off of an XXXtentacion tribute “Die Young”, Roddy Ricch is now noticed as a twenty year old rapper riding some critical and fan interest, and while he is not extremely different from many other melodic rappers in the game, he at least sounds of higher musical quality than his contemporaries. I have a problem with so many artists following the same melodic cadences and patterns, to the point where often, I couldn’t tell you who was singing in a blind test. New to Roddy, I wanted to hear what the hype was all about, and while I don’t love the genre, I can hear that Roddy is really good at this adopted style – an autotune rumbling Trap mode that belies the fact that he is a west coast bred artist. The ATL sound is so imitable these days on the national and international scene, so it wouldn’t be hard to model oneself after Young Thug or Future technically – what’s harder is standing out while using their styles.
