NF is a rapper from Michigan, who released his third album about two years ago. Perception quickly became a number one album of the top 200, and didn’t disappoint anyone, especially his fans. From his intros and outros to singing about his fears, Perception isn’t a light hearted album. It is filled with emotions and cutting lyrics, which is why it is a personal favorite of mine. The album starts with an eerie violin led “Intro III,” that goes into a cinematic sounding, pardon my pun, therapy session between NF and his fear. It’s the way he opens his album, fighting with his fears, which can only mean one thing- the album is going to be amazing. The song ends with a full minute of just a slow piano, which I would normally hate, but it is perfect. It provides the listeners a solid minute to just soak in everything they’ve just heard and prepare for what is to come… at least that is what I needed it for. The thing about NF is he doesn’t just do hype songs. NF raps pure heartfelt honesty, so he has slower raps as well. Some people prefer the hype, others, like myself, love a heartfelt rap about their issues and emotions.
