"Britney Spears"

The last teenage popstar of the 90s… and absolutely the Millennium Teenage Queen

It’s quite common for us to dispute about who was the first worldwide star in a specific period. For example, the first top artist in the third millennium, or, in the next period, who will be the shining star of the 20s. But if I should say who was the last pop queen of the second millennium, the girl who, with her songs and videos, introduced us to the 2000s, well, there is no doubt. Britney Spears broke down full speed into the world of pop in late 1998 with her first song and video. Her success was so huge that her debut album, released at the end of 1999, topped the charts in many many countries, and her fantastic career definitely skyrocketed. Britney Spears was only 16, and she played the role of the attractive teenage girl, always balancing between being innocent and being attractive, a continuous teasing game of moves and gazes. She was not the first, of course; Lio and Elli Medeiros in France during the early 80, Madonna and her “Like a Virgin” look in the States, Sabrina Salerno with her “Boys” in Italy, Patsy Kensit of Eighth Wonder and Kylie Minogue were teenage icons of beauty and joy of life in the UK during the late 80’s. Many of them are still active, and few of them have been able to remain faithful to their character, and also to evolve during the years. Britney Spears did all of this. I can’t think of any Britney’s hit during all the years, that would not perfectly fit also in the early Britney character ad attitude. It’s a sort of, how to say, everlasting Britneyism!

Britney Spears “Blackout” Album Pushes the Brink of 12 Years as the Media Flares Her Mental Health struggle & Conservatorship Fiasco.

Britney Spears whether people love it, like it, or hate it is an American Gem whose history spans all the way back to the mid 90’s, at least when it comes to music and releasing studio albums. One of my favorites, Blackout is Britney Spears fifth studio album and it’s very unfortunate and interesting to observe Britney Spears fifth musical baby Blackout lingering one year after it’s 10th Anniversary as Britney Spears is battling her mental health in the merciless fire of the mainstream media where she took to Instagram to write, “rumors, death threats to my family and my team, and just so many things crazy things being said. Everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me.” Similar to the infamous incident everyone knows Britney Spears went through in 2007 a night after she stayed in a drug rehabilitation facility she shaved her entire head bald with help from a Los Angeles salon in Tarzana. The haunting similarities of the lyrics to her life now is just like watching a character in a horror movie suffer on the same loop of their own nightmare or something as Britney sings “The center of attention (do you feel this?) Even when we’re up against the wall, you got me in a crazy position (yeah). If you’re on a mission (uh-huh), you got my permission (Oh)” in Blackout’s debut track “Gimme More.” Regardless of the drama that Britney is going through dealing with the legalities of the Conservatorship she’s been tied to it even has been reported that her dad is trying to file paperwork to have that shifted from California to Louisiana as Louisiana is her hometown where Britney Spears was raised. Her dad is wanting to “have the power to restrict and limit visitors by any means” along with “caretaker for the conservatee all around the clock of time, and the days of the week.” Britney Spears mother tried to interject for some power in the legality of this conservatorship which caught a lot of media inflammation.
