Brad Paisley Continues To Explore New Concepts Keeping The Country Music Genre Intact

The American Country musician Brad Paisley released his eleventh studio album Love and War in April 2017. Brad Paisley is usually known for his popular songs like “Whisky Lullaby”, “Beat this Summer” and “This is Country Music”. A video version of the new album Love and War was also released where all the music videos have been put together into a single narrative that has taken the form of a feature length movie. There have also been collaborations with other musicians like Bill Anderson, Mick Jagger and John Fogerty. The album is a blend of appealing lyrics and impressive fast-paced guitar plucks. The album received average ratings from the music critics. The Rolling Stone magazine rated the album 3 out of 5 stars, AllMusic rated it 2.5 stars and Metacritic gave it an overall average rating of 66 out of 100. Variety called the album “strong but uneven” and also mentioned it as a “guitar lover’s album”. Regarding his work on this album, Chris William from Variety called Brad Paisley a “nostalgic conservative”, “open minded progressive”, “rowdy court jester” and a “country’s romantic conscience”. The album, consisting of sixteen tracks, was overall commercially successful, receiving a number 1 ranking on Billboard’s US Top country albums chart and 13 on overall US Billboard 200 chart. It was also ranked 11 on the Billboard Canadian albums chart, and also gained decent positions on the music charts in various other countries like Australia, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and the United Kingdom. The best part is, even though many other country musicians are exploring the pop side of music, Brad Paisley still continues to stick to the country genre in its purest form.
