Anyone who knows me knows that I have very eclectic tastes in music. Most of the time, if it has lyrics and I can understand those lyrics I’m okay with listening. Rock, country, and hair bands, are my usual listening choices. But, I have a guilty pleasure. I love alternative folk music. Bands such as Mumford and Sons are on my go-to playlist when I have a lot of work to do and need background music. If you haven’t heard Mumford and Sons definitely check them out. It’s hard to explain or exactly categorize this group. While they do have a folksy sound I also think of them falling in with The Lumineers, Oh Honey, Keane, and The Killers. It’s catchy, it’s interesting and it’s great to sing along with. I enjoy the music, the lyrics and just the overall mood that Mumford and Sons create. One of my greatest joys is following that breadcrumb trail that pops up when I watch a video on YouTube and discovering bands I didn’t know before and falling in love with obscure songs. I did not find Mumford and Sons through that list though.
