It was in the 90’s when R&B and slow jams was at its peak and it became mainstream. One of the talented young artists who was introduced in this era is a guy named Usher, who captured the hearts of many young girls in an instant. From the time I saw his music video for “You Make Me Wanna”, I knew that he will last long in the music industry. He can sing, dance and have that commanding stage presence. It was rare for me to see a solo male singer that time who can sing and dance who is not bragging about his bling-blings and the many women who is running after him. Instead, he sings about how he will take it “nice and slow” (I find that romantic when I was a kid and didn’t really know the ‘real’ connotation to this one LOL). My Way is the second album of Usher. I’m not sure if the first one was released internationally, but it was through this record when he became popular. Ten years before Ne-Yo or Chris Brown dominated the R&B jams, Usher was the breakthrough star. Are you ready for a little trip back to slow jam memory lane? You may recognize some of these songs without realizing Usher sung it.
