Artistic Transition Of Miley Cyrus With The Bangerz

Bangerz was released on October 4, 2013, described by Cyrus as "dirty south hip-hop". When the album was releases it was said that Miley Cyrus is ahead of her time because the album was very adult and sexy. It is the fourth studio pop album, which also contain parts of hip hop, synthpop, and country music. After her third album 'Can't be tamed' she took a 3 year break and focused more on her film career, but she made a comeback with Bangerz establishing her new image as an artist. It also represents a musical departure from her prior work. Miley considered this album as her first because she felt so disconnected from her previous work. The album is inspired by her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, when she was asked about it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she replied "the whole album is a story of that and I think it says that starting with "Adore You" and ending with "Someone Else" ..... I think I knew more intuitively where my life was going than I actually thought I did at the time – The album contains songs like “Wrecking ball”, “We Can't Stop”, and “Adore You” which become hit as soon as they were released. Wrecking Ball which speaks about a failed relationship, topped the chart in the US and became the Miley first song to top the position, we cant stop that is midtempo pop song and adore you which expressively addresses a lover through touching lyrics like "We're meant to be in holy matrimony" hit position 2 and 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 respectively – 2013 surely was the wild time for the Miley Cyrus with all the wild outfits, the unfurling tongue and anything including "twerk". "Every time I do something, I want to remember, 'This is what separates me from everyone else,'" Cyrus said in the MTV documentary "Miley Cyrus: The Movement."

It All Began With ‘Bangerz’: Miley Cyrus’ Real Entry As A Pop Star Gave The Crowds What They Wanted

The slang based term Bangerz could refer to either the in your face design of this album’s tracks, or the quality of the type of parties which such musical ‘bangerz’ could underscore, or the type of Miley Cyrus body which was in vogue during this 2013 period. A search on EBAY reveals that the store reveals her physicality is still in demand, as the production team even printed a limited run of CDs showing her half naked body on the cover – these rare items going for $199 a pop now – and the vinyl version - for a whopping $289. Related to this body image point, I always marveled at the way that White Middle America acted as if they did not know what twerking was before Cyrus’ MTV performance, after countless examples had already been on display for decades courtesy of curvaceous Americans who may not have all had the ideal fashion-magazine mandated body types, but sure as hell could ‘back that thang up’ when the beat demanded such promiscuity. Whatever your definition, my overall impression of the album’s concept is one of absolute re-invention, for better or worse, where a child star, turning 20 years of age, asserts her sexuality by taking everything ignorantly blissful about American culture, mixing it all up, and spreading it’s patina all over herself, inviting discourse, offending censors and PC crowds, and thrilling audiences who crave such extremes. For Cyrus herself, I don’t think it would be unfair to speculate that above all Bangerz represented a calculated move to distance herself from her teen-idol persona, in order to be taken seriously as an adult Pop star who could come off just as liberated and important as Lady Gaga. Just as Gaga’s 2013 Artpop and Katy Perry’s 2013 Prism boasted elaborate Pop concepts and elaborate tour productions, so too would Cyrus’s if she hoped to not only make her comeback, but to compete at the top.

Bangerz is the fourth studio album by American singer Miley Cyrus. It was released on October 4, 2013, by RCA Records. It is her first studio album in three years after Can't Be Tamed. Opting to re-establish her music career instead of focusing on her film career as originally planned, Cyrus began planning the project in late 2012. Work continued into 2013 when she joined RCA Records. Described by Cyrus as "dirty south hip-hop", Bangerz represents a musical departure from her earlier work, which she had grown to feel "disconnected" from. As executive producers, Cyrus and Mike Will Made It collaborated with hip hop producers including Cirkut, Pharrell Williams, and to achieve Cyrus' desired new sound. Their efforts resulted in a primarily pop record, with lyrical themes that revolve largely around romance. It features guest vocals from several new partners, including pop singer Britney Spears and rappers French Montana, Future, Ludacris, and Nelly.
