For roughly a decade now, the Electronic music industry has experienced a dangerously exponential period of growth, reaching international acclaim as it permeates virtually every genre in existence on a furious rampage toward total digital domination. While the nineties saw a fairly large boom in House music & the noughties embraced Electro Pop in a big way, nowadays everything from Pop ballads to Latin grooves & even regular ol’ Rock’N’Roll has become assimilated into the Dance music fold, forming this homogenized blanket of music that all feels quite similar across the board – All of that changed in 2018, though, as big-name DJs sought to return to the more ‘underground’ sounds of the late-nineties electronic scene, bringing traditional House & Techno back in a big way to mainstream audiences, but veteran producer deadmau5 saw even this as a challenge to be better, turning left when all his contemporaries turned right – The result? Some of the most unique jams coming from someone of his pay-grade.
