Oxnard California is where Anderson .Paak calls home, and while this is not exactly explicit in the context of the album, spirituality, Oxnard the album represents a homecoming for the raspy voiced virtuoso, where he offers up to his small town Cali community all of his creative loot, which he picked up on his travels of the annals of American Black sound, which has always existed out there, on the national and historic level. What is absolutely apparent is that this is the artist that every one has attempted to imitate, whatever their background. He is an R&B Kendrick Lamar, while providing the feel good vibrations of a modern day Chance The Rapper and a back in the day Q-Tip. Where Anderson .Paak excels is in his authenticity and sheer adherence to classic sounds, occasionally twisting things up with a spritz of modernity.
